Handmade custom rugs — MAIIMO
Rectangle, circle, arch, drop shape: the form is not limited. The pattern can be your own sketch, a Pinterest reference, or an idea we refine together. The color palette can be anything: we will match the yarn to a specific shade in your interior or to brand colors if the rug is ordered for a commercial space.
Wool pile does not build up static electricity, does not attract dust the way synthetic fibers do, and stays warm to the touch even in cold seasons. Premium acrylic yarn does not shed and keeps its color for years. Both materials are safe for children and people with allergies: no toxic dyes and no harsh smell after production.
A properly made tufted rug lasts 10 to 15 years with normal use. The pile does not crumble, the pattern does not fade, and the shape holds. Unlike mass-produced items, each rug is a one-of-a-kind piece made by a specific craftsperson, and over time it becomes an even more valuable part of your interior.
A handmade rug creates a unique atmosphere at home: it adds comfort, warmth, and its own special story. A small bedside rug, a large living-room rug, or a wall rug used as a textile panel can make the whole space feel warmer and more personal.
Fill out the form on the page or message us directly. Tell us where the rug will be placed, what size you need, and what you want to see on it. You do not need a finished sketch: an idea, a reference, or even the wall color in the room is enough.
We will contact you within one business day. We will suggest design options, agree on the material, and choose the yarn. After your approval, we prepare the estimate and contract. The price is fixed, so there are no surprises at the end.
After the contract is signed and a 70% prepayment is received, we start production. The standard production time is 30 business days. For large or complex pieces, timing is agreed individually. You can request photos of the work in progress, and we will always provide them.
We deliver the finished rug in the way that is most convenient for you: Nova Poshta, Ukrposhta, or courier delivery to your door. International delivery is calculated according to the chosen carrier. The rug is carefully rolled, packed in protective material, and arrives in its original condition.
Tufting is a handmade rug-making technique in which the craftsperson stitches yarn into a base with a special needle, creating an even pile. Unlike machine-made rugs, every line of a tufted piece is controlled by hand. This means you can get almost any design, from geometry and abstraction to a pet portrait or a brand logo.
Tufting technique: handmade stitching on canvas
The process begins by transferring your design to the primary base: canvas. Then the craftsperson uses a tufting gun or a hand needle to stitch each area, setting the pile height and density. The finished handmade rug is treated with latex on the back to secure the fibers, then trimmed to an even surface or left in a loop-pile finish, depending on the chosen technique. The result is a piece with crisp design contours that cannot be achieved in the same way by industrial production.
What materials we use for custom rugs
We work with acrylic yarn, wool, and blended compositions depending on the purpose of the rug and your budget. Acrylic is wear-resistant and easier to care for, while wool is natural, warm, and durable. For the base we use primary nonwoven material; for the backing, non-slip latex or burlap. If a specific material is important to you, tell us during the discussion stage and we will select the right option.
